Cordoba has announced a totally new and interesting line of guitars. The Leona series starts with two full solid steel string parlours.
Both the L-9E and L-10E are full solid 12 fret parlours. The former is all mahogany while the latter (also full solid) has a sitka top with rosewood b/s. Plenty of high end appointments like Grover tuners, ebony fretboard, maple binding and bone nut/saddle are found in these guitars. Very impressive.
The slotted headstock adds to the old school feel. That seems like the current trend with guitar companies – making vintage feel instruments.
The street price for L-9E is US$699, while the L-10E is US$799. In all, Cordoba seems to be making a firm entry into steel string acoustics following the Acero series.
