There has been quite a bit of speculation that he has become a PRS artiste, so now I guess it’s finally official.
PRS has introduced the Private Stock Super Eagle with design inputs from John Mayer. The slightly longer 25.375 inch scale, specially wound pickups and special f-hole sticker were developed together with JM and this should be the first of a series of signature guitars.
The Super Eagle features private stock curly maple for top and back, with mahogany as the side wood for the body. Fretboard is made from Brazilian rosewood with curly maple binding.
More luxurious appointments can be seen on the headstock made from Brazilian rosewood veneer, special inlays and ebony tuner buttons.
Only 100 of these bad boys will be produced so Guitarbear assumes this will be another “collectors only” guitar judging from the price and scarcity.
