Some new limited editions recently launched by Gibson.
Les Paul Voodoo 2016
Bold blood red looking finish plus red/black pickups on this Les Paul makes it look kind of special. Gibson calls this the JuJu finish. Not sure what it means, but the red and black theme is nicely done throughout the guitar.
There are red dot inlays and all black hardware on this one. Body and top woods are ash in that funnily named JuJu sheen finish.
Comes with a really snazzy hardcase in red snake skin finish. Wow.
Retails at US$1699.
Les Paul Studio Swamp Ash
Swamp ash is probably more synonymous with Fenders but this is not the first time we see a Les Paul made using the typically lighter wood. The 2016 limited edition bears much similarity as the previous model so Guitarbear reckons this is more or less a re-issue.
Very typical Les Paul appointments seen here. This is a one piece ash body with a maple neck. Retails at US$1699.
Really hot looking SG here. As the name implies, this is a bare bones guitar without much fuss. A P90 loaded SG is always looks interesting.
Comes in a choice of natural or walnut finish. One thing to note is the unusually narrow nut. Gibson has listed the nut width as 1.55 inch. What? Is this a uke?
Retails at US$1299.
