Ibanez has jumped on the torrified top bandwagon and launched the Artwood Vintage Thermo Aged Series.
This follows the trend set by other manufacturers. Martin (VTS) and Yamaha (ARE) are two makers using similar technology to give the guitar a worn-in tone like an old guitar. Even Taylor used this on their latest 600 Series.
The 4 new models in the Ibanez AVTA series feature two dreads, a parlour and a concert body.
The AVD9 above is the ubiquitous solid top dread with laminate mahogany body.
The AVC9 looks like it’s the cooked top sibling to the popular AC240. Solid mahogany top and laminate body.
The AVN9 should suit those looking for a parlour with short scale and slotted headstock.
The top-of-the-line AVD10 is the all solid dread with sunburst finish.
