Big release from Gibson as they introduce the Modern Double Cut in Gibson Custom line.
The new shape has mixed elements and it’ll safe to say it may please players who are familiar with double cut guitars from other brands.
While the DNA of this model is definitely Gibson with the 24.75 inch scale, set neck, tilt-back headstock, Tun-o-matic/Stoptail bridge and dual humbuckers, we can’t help but feel that the offset horns, belly cut and simpler electronics are F****** and P## brand elements.
There are six finishes available and the gold top is just pure beauty. Retail is US$3999 at time of blog entry, so save some moolah if you want one.

Some good discounts from our local stores if you need some new gear.
1. Martin DJR 20% off at City Music
A great opportunity to get an all-solid wood Martin. These things are fast becoming classics.
2. Bundles at SV Guitars
Interesting promotion for the Dean Zelinsky Tagliare. You get to choose from either the ones with Z-Glide or not. At $399, it seems like quite a good markdown from the retail prices.

Hot news as Gibson launches new Limited Run guitars in their Custom line.
These black & gold guitars just scream class.
Good to see Richlite used on the fretboards as we move towards into the post-Rosewood era.
The Firebird retails at US$3799.
Prices from US$2999 (SG Custom) – US$3999 (Les Paul Custom).
Not normally a fan of relic-ed guitars, Guitarbear was knocked off the chair when these appeared. That Kerry Green one (below) is just spectacular.
Comes with an equally spectacular price of US$5999. How much does a bear kidney cost these days? 🙂

New features in an already classic pedal. Wow.
With MASH and Shimmer added to this one, expect to see it selling fast and furious.
