New signature model from PRS.

The Ltd Ed SE Mark Holcomb in Whale Blue Satin finish has some special features such as a 25.5″ scale and a hand-rubbed satin finish.

Great-looking quilted maple top that looks right at home among more expensive PRS models. Cool.

Experience PRS Ltd Ed Guitars

PRS have launched some beautiful limited edition guitars at the 2018 Experience PRS Event.

McCarty 594 “Graveyard Limited”

The centre piece of the collection is the Private Stock McCarty 594 “Graveyard Limited”, made from old curly maple milled from (you guessed right) the outskirts of a graveyard.

Other models include the McCarty 594 Semi-Hollow and the McCarty 594 Singlecut.

McCarty 594 Semi-Hollow

Single McCarty 594

Plenty of exotic woods such as ziricote fretboards and highly figured woods used in these guitars. They are sure to fetch a high premium. True connoisseurs with deep pockets would gain better access. 🙂

PRS SE Satin Quilt “Stealth” Ltd Ed

New release from PRS Europe. These guitars come with a satin finished quilted maple top and black back and necks.

Available across eight models – Custom 22, Custom 24, Custom 24 Lefty, Custom 24 Floyd, SVN, 277 Semi-hollow, Tremonti & Zack Myers. You can actually have a really good stealth-themed collection here without busting the bank. 🙂

Last year’s exotic wood series didn’t hit SG so I’m guessing European Ltd Eds don’t come here at all.

PRS Silver Sky John Mayer

Guitar portals were busy as they reported on the official launch of the John Mayer Signature model.

What’s basically an ST shape body with a PRS headstocked neck bolted on, the Silver Sky was reportedly a design that took two years to develop.

A quick look at the specs reveal mostly vintage style elements such as 7.25″ fret radius and a narrow nut width. Woods are typically Strat, with alder body, maple neck and rosewood fretboard chosen.

Four colours are available – Tungsten, Onyx, Horizon and Frost. Again, new names for old familiar friends such as Candy Apple Red or Arctic White from the F-company. It seems like only the headstock design is copyrighted, otherwise I’m not sure why Fender would let this go.

Priced at US$2299, this should be popular for fans as well as those who’d like to enjoy an ST type guitar with PRS quality.

PRS Private Stock Hollowbody II 594 Ltd Ed

Beautiful new release from PRS.

The Ltd Ed Hollowbody II 594 boosts premium features such as exotic tone woods and extravagant appointments.

Top and back are curly maple and a lovely flame mahogany neck can be seen from stock photos. Wow.

The entire guitar (body, headstock and neck) is also bound with maple and abalone. The bling factor is definitely high on this one.

Pickups are 58/15 LT and the guitar has a rather unusual 24.594″ (hence the model code 594) scale.

Only 60 pieces made so expect to pay a premium to get one.
